This is a great set up episode for the even greater second part. The characters are rich. The Ood are fantastic. What a strange and interesting species of aliens, and what is even greater about them is the fact that they aren't technically the villains, and they are actually quite a nice species, albeit inhabited by some kind of evil possession.
All around though the pacing, the design, the jokes, the drama...all are working full force for one of the best multi-part episodes since the shows return.
