Story: Fear Her
Written By: Matthew Graham
Length: 45 Minutes
Year: 2006
I don’t really like “Fear Her.” The episode is watchable, but that is really applicable to the majority of the revived series, more than you could quite possibly say for the original. The problem is it doesn't really engage me in the characters. And I think I also find the villain to be weak and flawed.
The dumbest aspect though is the Doctor lighting the Olympic torch. Give me a break. The only highlight of the episode is the Doctor’s line: “I was a father once” with Rose looking a little hurt. That was a nice little moment.
In retrospect I am even more disappointed in this episode, because the writer did some great things in both "Life on Mars" and "Ashes to Ashes" both shows he co-created and wrote for. This is weak compared to those two series.
