Story: Daleks! - Planet of the Mechanoids

The Daleks head to their old enemies, the Mechanoids, home planet so the Emperor can discuss a possible peace between them. While the Emperor speaks with the Mechanoid Queen, the Strategist attempts to connect with a Mechanoid Scientist to discuss the danger posed by the Entity. Meanwhile antsy Daleks can’t help themselves and fight the Mechanoids and lose. This ends up leaving just the Emperor and Strategist as the sole surviving Daleks, seemingly, in the universe…but before the Mechanoid Queen can take advantage of this, the Emperor reveals that he’s lead the Entity to them.
I think this is a decent installment. I mean the fire effects from the Mechanoids is really awful and lame, but honestly the Daleks, Mechanoids, and the Mechanoid city all look pretty great…it is not award winning animation, but I thought it all looked nice apart from the godawful fire effects.
It is interesting to have the Mechanoids back on screen for the first time since “The Chase,” which was also their introduction. Beyond TV, the Mechanoids were portrayed as sworn enemies of the Daleks in the Dalek TV21 comic strip in the 60s, so it is fun to see that strip sort of brought to life in this animated show that couldn’t possibly handle humans with it’s low budget CG.
