Story: The Interstellar Song Contest

The TARDIS lands on Harmony Arena so the Doctor can use the Vindicator once more, and once they see it is an outer space version of Eurovision in the distant future with Rylan Clark alive and well because he's been chryogenically frozen for decades...they just have to stick around. But some alien terorists take control of the arena and shoot everyone into space. Belinda hits a ceiling and ends up sealed in the space station, while the Doctor uses a confetti canon to shoot himself back into the station. The episode moves in a pretty predictable fashion from there. The Doctor and Belinda both independently try to work their way to the control room to stop the baddies...the baddies reasoning for their terrorist behavior is revealed (the company that sponsors the event destroyed their world and then bad mouthed them around the universe for it), and the Doctor both stops the terrorism while helping to showcase the gross behavior of the sponsor. Also everyone shot into space is saved. It's typical Doctor Who even if at one point the Doctor is extra violent in a way I didn't care for.
Then as the credit begin to roll, the stop for a mid credits scene. Mrs. Flood, who was seen early on in the episode monitoring the Doctor is one of the many people rescued...only it's nearly killing her. And she bi-generates. Yes...because this needs to be a thing now. And we finally get the reveal of who Mrs. Flood. She is a Rani, while the new younger version is THE Rani. For 20 years...Doctor Who fandom has speculated, both seriously and as a joke, that every mystery female character in the show would at some point turn out to be the Rani. And it was never going to be the Rani. Because the Rani is a very lame villain from the 1980s. Well...she is okay in "Mark of the Rani" but "Time and the Rani" is awful, and she is bad in it. Also her appearance in "Dimensions in Time" is horrible but everything is horrible in that so I guess its not her fault. But here she is. The Rani. Finally, fans can stop guessing that "she's gonna be the Rani." Or maybe they will only double down now that she has actually returned. Wonder what she's up to.
