It's kind of odd how even with a production schedule that has been lightened from 13 episodes to 8, we still have a Doctor-lite episode.  It made sense to give the leads a break back when they'd shoot for nearly a year to get 13 episodes and Christmas specials done...but these days it just seems odd. Still, if you are going to do a Doctor-lite episode, using it as an excuse to bring back the previous companion and focus in on what it means to be back on Earth after all those exciting adventures. I think that is a good premise.

Ruby ends up on a podcast to discuss her life with the Doctor and UNIT, or at least what she can.  The podcaster and her strike up a friendship which blooms into a relationship.  Only it turns out he is a piece of shit.  He was only using her to expose UNIT as using tax dollars and fake special effects to trick people into thinking there are aliens that they need protecting from.

I like the "what does life mean after the Doctor" storyline, felt a little iffy on the whole podcaster bit.  I think I just need Doctor Who to provide an escape from all that crap that endlessly happens with influencers and political weirdos gaining traction on social media for nonsense they barely believe in and ruining our world...and this just highlights it and kind of put me off.  I don't think it's necessarily a bad idea for a story, or even that it was poorly executed...I just want a bit of escapism from the blight on humanity that is social media.
