Story: The Vampires of Venice
Written By: Toby Whithouse
Length: 45 Minutes
Year: 2010
This episode is just alright. It wasn't anything new or special, and the vampires were kind of a let down, but the fish aspect was somewhat interesting. The backstory of the fish people was pretty generic and lame though. Didn't we get the backstory of a group of survivors from a lost race hiding from the big story arc all throughout the Time War Era? Yes. Yes we did, so why is Moffat rehashing it with his Cracks in Time arc?
On the plus side, I thought the opening scene with Doctor crashing and ruining Rory's bachelor party was superb, and all subsequent Rory joining the TARDIS crew business to be a great idea. I always prefer a trio in the TARDIS.
In the end, I'd say so so episode, with plenty to find that is fun or interesting, but not enough to make this a stand out.
