Yet another example of this show’s wishy washy viewpoint, a show which tries to deal with fascism yet is constantly trying to “both sides” every issue. Basically Gryffen’s mansion is taken over by a group of rogue police officers, humans who have become a radical terrorist group when they were dismissed by the Department and replaced by the Robot Cops. The leader of these cops is Darius’ dad who abandoned him for these Last Precinct pursuits.
These human cops are fighting fascism, but mostly painted as the villains of the episode…though they also want to treat Darius’ father as somewhat misguided? The Department, including Jorjie’s mom, instated the Fascist robots but also like…it’s Jorjie’s mom who is secretly nice despite voting for Fascism. But Thorn is really bad because he made the robots worse with alien tech I guess, so Jorjie’s mom is reasonable? The show just lacks any real voice or direction, though I guess the real message of this episode is all cops are bastards.
Also, no actor has better demonstrated the oddity of making this show set in the UK despite being filmed in Australia than the guy playing Darius’ dad. That guy is absolutely failing to hide his accent.
