This is a truly odd episode, where a lot of it is presented as a farcical comedy or something. Beyond the stupid idiot clown robots, there is just this weird tone where they are putting up title cards and playing zany music, and acting like this heist our characters are pulling off is some wacky adventure, or that it is something like "The Sting." But none of it is clever, none of it is fun or humorous. Acting wise it is mostly played straight, so why the odd music and editing choices? They seem to be trying to evoke something more entertaining...but it feels like a post production change, because it doesn't seem like the cast are playing up this tone at all. It just feels so out of place.
K-9 is sent into an underground robot fight club while the team tries to figure out the secrets of the illegal ring. In an absolutely shocking twist, Thorn is heavily involved. Also it is all a trap to get K-9's regeneration technology, that somehow Thorn knows about. Watch out!
Seriously, can this show ever get anything right?
