Creepy Ghost Children

Story: K-9: The Fall of the House of Gryffen
Written By: Shayne Armstrong & S.P. Krause
Length: 30 Minutes
Year: 2010

The gang are all hanging out at the House of Gryffen so Starkey can pummel Darius over and over again at chess. Or somehow K-9 is playing on a team with Darius and Jorjie and Starkey are on a team together? Who cares.  Anyhow...a big electrical storm is rolling in, and Jorji's smothering mother wants to make sure she is safe while she helps the evil government rule with an iron fist...but luckily the weirdo scientist adult Jorjie befriended says she can sleepover if she wants. The mother says that is fine, then goes back to aiding and abetting fascism.  This is the worst mom I have ever seen in a TV show aimed at kids.  Some creepy man says "your daughter can sleep here" and the mom is like "fine, as long as I don't have to take a break from my dystopian government job.
Anyhoo, the electrical storm knocks out the power and the episode becomes a haunted mansion style story, where creepy ghost children appear.  They are in the form of Gryffen's lost children, and even his ghostly wife appears...but maybe they aren't his wife and children, but some kind of negative energy beings?  Luckily all these children know exactly what is up and help K-9 get all the exposition out.  How do these random children know any of this?  I guess because they have the script.

This show is really lame and bad, but I did appreciate the sound design on this one, because I was noticing plenty of stock sound effects you can find in Final Cut, may favorite being the pot breaking sound effect, which I only associate with comedy now, thanks to "Wet Hot American Summer" and RedLetterMedia videos.
