"Survival" is one hell of an ironic title. This is the last episode of the last season of the Classic series of Doctor Who. Despite a production team finally getting its ass in gear and trying to make the show decent again, the viewing figures just weren't there.
So we get this, a rather mediocre serial as our final story. It features Anthony Ainley's final appearance as the Master, and he is actually better than he usually is. A little less campy and a little more subdued, even his costume is less flamboyant.
Realizing the show was going to die JNT added a voiceover by the Doctor in the final moments, its a decent riding off into the sunset kind of ending, but not real satisfying.
