Doctor Who: Season 16 Recap

After the weak outing that was Season 15, I would have said that Graham Williams was a bad choice for Producer. He fortunately had the idea of a single story arc to link every story of a season. The result was Key to Time, and it worked swimmingly.

The stories are stronger, the rapport between Tamm and Baker is stronger, the supporting casts are stronger, and the overall feel and look is stronger. Williams stepped it up, and it shows, if he had only kept the momentum through the next season his era might look stronger in retrospect.

The drawback to this season, however, is that Tom Baker off the leash. He is taking the comedy route too often, but luckily in this season his dramatic performances are just as strong. Hinchcliffe reigned him in more often than not, Williams lets him loose.

At any rate, this is a strong ass season.
