Story: Resurrection of the Daleks
Written By: Eric Saward
Length: 2 45 Minute Episodes or 4 25 Minute Episodes
Year: 1984

This saw the return of the Daleks, and Peter Davison's only clash with them. Its actually a strong story, and Davison is rock solid in them. Due to the brodcast of the Olympics the BBC decided to have the story re-edited from four parts to two 45 minute episodes. I have seen the four part version. From what I understand they are pretty much the same.
Davros also appears, as he does in all Dalek stories for the rest of the classic series run. Michael Wisher was the best Davros, but he only played him in Genesis. The second actor to play him in Destiny (David Gooderson) was rather weak, but the close second for the character is clearly Terry Molloy who plays him here first and played him in all subsequent appearances until the shows end in 1989.

Tegan leaves the Doctor at the end of this story. She was never the best companion, and she certainly wasn't the most popular, but she was good in her own right, and she and the Fifth Doctor had a different rapport, and it worked well. They were slightly antagonistic to each other, despite that they seemed to genuinely like each other. Her final scene was pretty good.

Brave Heart Tegan.
