...But the Moment Has Been Prepared For

Story: Logopolis
Written By: Christopher H. Bidmead
Length: 4 Episodes
Year: 1981

Tom Baker held the key to the TARDIS for seven years, a record still not broken to this day. When given the choice to continue on with a Producer he hated or hang up the scarf, he hung up the scarf.
So here it is, the final story to feature the Fourth Doctor. How is it? Eh. Its decent, but for a Doctor who was so popular and lasted so long I feel like his send off is rather anti-climactic.

He faces off with the Master, who is back to his old self with a new body, a little hokier than he used to be, but he is back in full force. Baker looks kind of tired throughout, and I feel like he should have at least put a little enthusiasm into what would be his final story. He is joined still by Adric, he meets Tegan (another companion that many don't seem to like but I tend to disagree with this one), and eventually Nyssa from the previous story shows up. There is no real reason for Nyssa to show up, but the producers seemed to like her, so they just made up a reason for her to return. Its really, really shoehorned in. That okay because Sarah Sutton is rather decent as Nyssa.

In the end the Doctor saves the universe...then slowly falls off a satellite. Like I said anti-climactic. He has visions of many of his foes, and then of all the companions of the Fourth Doctor...all in stock footage. Throughout the story he is stalked by a strange white creature...the Watcher. It turns out the Watcher is actually the mediator between Doctors Four and Five.

Then Tom Baker slowly turns into Peter Davison. The 80s have arrived.
