Take a Dip in the Pool

Story: Paradise Towers
Written By: Stephen Wyatt
Length: 4 Episodes
Year: 1987

Before we get started lets take time to discuss this new season's title sequence. CGI graphics in 1987 on a television budget...a low television budget. They look pretty bad, and the new theme music is just another variation of tons of synthesizers like all of the 80s have been. Also the whole opening is too long, having the middle 8 section included in the opening. That means that not only are we getting like 14 episodes a season, 25 minutes only, but also that time is taken out of the show to make room for the extended titles. They were really pushing this show to keep it alive...wasting as much time as they possibly could.
Anyhow this story is decent, far better than McCoy's first story, and he is a little less clown like. Only a little less. The story moves well enough, and even though I find Mel detestable (she's annoying, wears crazy 80s shoulder pads and 80s hair, and seems like a huge step back as she is just a screaming mess), she isn't the worst she could be in this story.

The costumes look awful, but at least shadows are creeping their way back into the show and making an extended visit.
