A New Body At Last

Story: The Keeper of Traken
Written By: Johnny Byrne
Length: 4 Episodes
Year: 1981

This is a decent story with a bit of padding, but it is better than one would expect, as the Doctor only really had Adric as a companion, and Baker himself is not taking the job too seriously.
The story is notable for the return of the Master who had not been seen since the Deadly Assassin. He was last played as a decaying body by Peter Pratt, this time it is the same incarnation, beaten and an all but dead body. He is now performed by Geoffrey Beavers, who is decent here but really good in some Big Finish Audio Dramas.

Anthony Ainley plays Tremas, father to Nyssa who for some reason becomes a companion in the next story. At the end of the story the Doctor thinks he has defeated the Master and leaves the planet Traken. But unfortunately he is wrong, and the Master manages to capture Tremas, and take over his body. And so begins Anthony Ainley's turn at the Master.

NEXT TIME: It's The End...
