Story: The Unquiet Dead
Written By: Mark Gatiss
Length: 45 Minutes
Year: 2005
This episode has moments but falls pretty flat more often than not. Charles Dickens is all right but rather pointless. I think I prefer historical settings over historical people. The ghosts aren’t that scary, and in the end the story doesn’t impress me too much.
Gwen from Torchwood gets her first role in the Who universe (I don’t want to use the term whoniverse). She is decent here, but definitely not that impressive, and she wouldn’t become likable in Torchwood for me until Series 3. That’s another show though.
