Story: The Ark

"The Ark" is set in the distant future, and features a creative race known as the Monoids. They are cycloptic aliens...their one eye is a ping pong ball with a pupil drawn on in the actor's mouth, and a wig covering up the rest of their face. The image is weird but it works in its own unique way. Basically Dodo, the worlds most useless companion, has a small cold, which spreads like wild fire in the ship to humans and Monoids that have little immunity to it.
The Doctor quickly figures out a way to fix the problem and the crew venture off to their next adventure. Only they materialize in the Ark again. The Monoids have no taken control as many humans died in the dreaded colds second wave. Eventually the doctor works things out between the two after a bit of a civil war.
This story is decent, but certainly not my top choice for a complete Season 3 story. I feel that Season 3 is weaker than the previous 2 seasons, as the cast wasn't steady enough and Hartnell's slowly failing health. The Ark works in its own way, and has interesting ideas, but had Vicki still been the female companion in place of Dodo I feel it would have flowed better. Also the script needed some tidying up.
