The Secret of Loch Ness

Story: Terror of the Zygons
Written By: Robert Banks Stewart
Length: 4 Episodes
Year: 1975

Terror of the Zygons may technically be the opener to season 13, but it is thematically and story wise the finale to Season 12. It closes up the storyline that began at the end of Robot, and would have finished the Season off nicely as it would begin and end with a UNIT story. I do believe this was supposed to be the season ender but it was held off for some reason or another.
It marks The Brigadier's final appearance until the 80s, and Harry's final appearance as a companion, with one more appearance later in the season. I think it is a same he left, as I liked this trio. They worked really well together, and Harry was the best male companion since the 60s, but unfortunately they decided to have him stay home at the end of this story, and it works, its not out of character, but I really thought the feel of this season was worth repeating.

This episode also introduces the Zygons, a classic monster and fan favorite that for some inconcievable reason were never brought back for more stories. Turly a waste, but heres hoping that someday they return...with a new series on the air there is always hope! The Zygons are cool, and have a great unique design, another example of this show creating great costuming and effects under low budgets.

Great Story, Along with good portions of Season 8 and Season 12, this definately makes it onto my "must see" list for new fans to test the waters of the Classic Series.
