Story: Inferno
Written By: Don Houghton
Length: 7 Episodes
Year: 1970
The final story of season 7 is "Inferno", which I feel is the best of the season. Inferno involves scientists drilling to the center of the Earth. It causes a green oil to appear which turns certain men into heat craving creatures. Meanwhile the Doctor is working on the TARDIS console, trying to fix it...and is accidentally transported to a parallel world. All his friends are, of course, evil in this version of Earth. They are also drilling, and the Doctor realizes that the drilling is bad idea. He tries to save both universes, but is only able to save his own.
"Inferno" is enjoyable to watch, and although it is padded like most of this season, the padding is less noticeable as it is a more enjoyable tale.
