Story: The Talons of Weng-Chiang
Written By: Robert Holmes
Length: 6 Episodes
Year: 1977
This is a classic Robert Holmes story. The story is a tiny bit racist...only in that it cast a white man as an Asian, but he isn't really played to cartoonish or over the top, so I wouldn't say its totally a slap in the face.
The story is fun and exciting, especially for a 6 parter, and the characters of Jago and Litefoot are often cited as great one off characters, as they should. Overall this is a classic, that should probably be viewed by the newer fan looking to the past. A fan favorite for sure.
The only complaint is Leela in a Victorian dress rather than her skimpy leather outfit...shame. The Doctor's Sherlock Holmes outfit makes up for it.
