This is a disappointing end to what started as a pretty terrific season. What is especially disappointing is the fact that the first part is just as good and exciting as the rest of the season, but the second episode falls mostly flat, and just kind of whimpers to a conclusion.

We get the return of a classic character though, the Brigadier returns in all his glory. Lovely to see good ol' Nicholas Courtney again. He teams up with Sarah Jane and Co. to fight off the enemy team up of the Bane and the lone Sontaran from the beginning of the season.
Unfortunately the Brig just sits around in the background for a good chunk of the second part, disappears for some of it, then shows up again at the end to say his goodbyes. Odd. So ultimately they bring him back and build it up in the press to just use him as a plot convenience in part one? Waste. I know Courtney is getting up there, and he can't do as much as he used to, but they could have given him something more useful to do.
Shame it ends this way, and by that I mean the story, the season, and the Brigadier (as this marks Courtney's final appearance as the beloved character).
