Story: The Sound of Drums
Written By: Russell T. Davies
Length: 45 Minutes
Year: 2007

This is a great set up episode for the finale. The Master has more power than he has ever gotten before, and it’s really exciting. You keep wondering how the Doctor is going to get out of this one. The Master was elected Prime Minister of Britain, and we discover he became so by using a 15 satellite hypnotic mind control through cell phones. Crazy.
Things get really bad. Martha’s whole family is arrested by the Master, and he has a plan that includes some weird floating balls called the Toclafane, who kinda look like the AT&T symbol. The TARDIS, which was stolen by the Master at the end of Utopia, has been cannibalized and turned into a “paradox machine.” Like I said, things got bad.

But the wonderful Doctor has a plan. And for a brief moment you think it just might succeed. But the Master is about 1500 steps ahead of him, and totally sees the Doctor coming. Then shit really hits a giant ass fan. The Master stops the Doctor, kills the U.S. President, then removes 1/10th the population of Earth. FUCK. Martha teleports away and the credits roll.
