Weeping Angels

Story: Blink
Written By: Steven Moffat
Length: 45 Minutes
Year: 2007

This season’s Moffat effort is another great. This time he ventures into Doctor-Lite territory. The result is better than the previous season’s Love & Monsters. The monsters here are wonderful. The Doctor as an easter egg is brilliant, because they only had to record Tennant once, but he keeps reappearing throughout the episode, so his presence doesn’t feel completely lost. The statues of the weeping angels that will “kill you nicely.” The concept that they can not move when you are looking at them is great…but blink and…
We follow Sally Sparrow, a character you grow to love over the course of the episode, which is good to see that Moffat can pull off what Davies usually shines in (character development), something we may get to retain when he takes over, character moments.

All in all this episode is super popular with fans, which is a triumph for being a Doctor-Lite.

NEXT TIME: You Are Not Alone
