You Were My Doctor

Story: Time Crash
Written By: Steven Moffat
Length: 8 Minutes
Year: 2007

Unlike the last mini episode for Children In Need, this is not needed to bridge the gap between Series 3 and the Christmas special. But it does anyhow, and it gives us just a little extra story that takes place after Martha leaves and before the Titanic crashes through the wall. It’s a fun little short with the Tenth and Fifth Doctor’s meeting. Which makes jabs at both Doctors while simultaneously paying mega homage to the Fifth Doctor. Peter Davison is older, but who cares, it is all around fun, and wonderfully written by Steven Moffat.
It's great to see this Doctor from such a different era of the show return in fine form, even if it's just 8 minutes.  I can't imagine something like this working for a whole 45 minutes (a clearly older actor playing his younger Doctor, I mean), but it was great to just have a nice scene with very little at stake, and just get to see two Doctors interact.

Looking back on this now, it is somewhat odd that Peter Davison has now become David Tennant's father-in-law (Tennant married Davison's daughter, who played Tennant's Daughter in series 4...jeez this is like a complex Moffat script).  That is one Who-tastic family.

NEXT TIME: Starship Titanic
