Story: Torchwoood: Cyberwoman
Written By: Chris Chibnall
Length: 50 Minutes
Year: 2006
Yet another weak episode from this rocky first season to Torchwood. This episode features a tie to the Doctor Who second series finale Doomsday, in which Ianto has apparently been keeping his girlfriend hidden in the Torchwood basement. Oh and she is a half converted Cyberman. The problems begin for this episode in her costume - which is atrocious.
It doesn't look like steel, as the actual Cybermen did in Doctor Who, it looks like plastic. It is also focusing far too heavily on the SEX aspect of the actress's body. So the Cybermen decide to half convert people, and happen to cover up the naughty bits? Only the naughty bits? And make sure the women are in high heels? Oh and make those titties look big now! Ridiculous. People hate this episode, and its hard to argue with them, because trying to look past that costume is difficult.
The other problem is the end, which seems to focus on Jack and Gwen, even though it should really be a Ianto moment. For no reason whatsoever both seemed to think Jack may have been able to die at the hands of the Cyberwoman. No explanation is given. WEAK.
