Story: Planet of the Dead

“Planet of the Dead" is the first official installment of the 2009 Specials, 4 60-75 Minute Episodes aired over the course of the year. This aired on Easter 2009. The story is pretty bland and un-special for being the first of the SPECIALS. Don’t get me wrong it’s not a terrible story, but its certainly isn’t real special.
The character of Lady Christina is weak, and performed with little to no emotion. For a year with little Who, and only 4 specials, each should be very strong and well crafted. This did not do that. Unfortunate.
I did however like the character of Malcolm, as well as the final ominous prophecy of "he will knock four times", and I think that the story looks good if nothing else. It should be mentioned that for the first time ever, Doctor Who was broadcast in HD. It's come a long way since the grainy black and white video beginnings.
