Story: Doomsday
Written By: Russell T Davies
Length: 45 Minutes
Year: 2006
It’s the first time in 40+ history of Doctor Who that the Daleks and Cybermen appear together, not counting their appearances in The Five Doctors, which doesn’t really count, as they were unrelated. It is pretty awesome. I love the Dalek-Cybermen bitch session. Their battle is pretty cool.
And the ending makes sense with the whole sending them all through the void, despite some fans claims that it was just dues ex machina. It certainly is not, because not everything goes back to normal. The Doctor loses Rose…and she is trapped in parallel Earth with Mickey, her mom, and her parallel Dad.
The final scene really works. The Doctor gets his goodbyes with Rose by burning out a sun, and it’s a prefect little send off, that cuts the Doctor off before he may or may not tell her he loves her. It keeps the show from going the way of shipper-dome, and also lets the shippers believe whatever the hell they want. I was really satisfied with her finale.
Oh. And then a Bride appears in the TARDIS. Huh?
